  • Nurses, EMTs, dental, clinical staff: check your employer. Atrium Health’s Greater Charlotte onboarding accepts AHA BLS for the Healthcare Provider or American Red Cross BLS. Some Atrium job postings and facilities specify AHA BLS or RQI only.
  • Daycares: both NC and SC accept approved organizations’ pediatric courses with a hands-on skills check. NC DCDEE publishes accepted course lists by organization.
  • Office, gym, school, or family: either works. Pick the instructor and format that fits.

Homefront CPR teaches AHA courses (BLS, Heartsaver, skills checks), led by Megan H., RN, an AHA instructor. AHA courses offered through CPR Works of Charlotte, an AHA Training Center. We don’t teach Red Cross courses.

The AHA notes that its card doesn’t “certify” you to do CPR. It verifies you performed the skills satisfactorily when you trained. Practice and renewal matter.
