Daycare CPR & First Aid Training

CPR & First Aid Training for Daycares and Childcare Teams in Charlotte

On-site pediatric CPR and First Aid for Charlotte, Fort Mill and Rock Hill daycares. RN-led, hands-on, AHA eCards. Built around NC and SC licensing rules.

The short answer

  • The rule: under 10A NCAC 09 .1102, the NC Division of Child Development and Early Education requires staff who provide direct care to complete First Aid and CPR certification appropriate to the ages of the children in care. At least one CPR-trained staff member must be present whenever children are in care.
  • Blended courses: DCDEE allows blended courses (face-to-face plus virtual) from an approved organization, as long as the instructor evaluates each student’s competency. Pre-recorded or self-paced distance learning isn’t allowed for CPR.
  • Course cards: must reflect successful completion and show the optional modules, such as Child & Infant CPR.

  • The regulation: S.C. Code Regs. 114-503 requires at least one staff member certified in pediatric first aid, including rescue breathing, CPR, and blocked-airway management. That person must be present whenever children are in care and on outings or field trips.
  • Recommendation: SC also recommends a CPR-certified teacher in each infant and toddler classroom at all times.
  • Training hours: CPR/First Aid doesn’t count toward the annual training hours for direct-care staff.

Requirements vary by facility type and role. Confirm with your director or licensing consultant which course titles your center accepts before you book.

  • CPR + First Aid Combo ($95/person): Heartsaver CPR/AED plus First Aid skills, two-year certification. Includes the child and infant CPR modules.
  • CPR & AED Heartsaver ($85/person): adult CPR & AED plus the child and infant CPR modules, choking relief, AHA eCard.
  • Infant & Child CPR + Choking Workshop ($200 up to 4, +$45 each): a hands-on, non-certification add-on for staff and parent nights. It doesn’t satisfy licensing on its own.

  • Taught by a Registered Nurse who can answer the “what if” questions staff ask about real kids.

  • eCards within 24–48 hours for your licensing files.
  • Annual recertification reminders for your whole team.
